The Rideau River near Becketts Landing and Kemptville Creek, especially around Hilly Lane, Rideau Glen Lane, Golf Course Lane and Barts Lane may be affected. There are also access concerns for Cedar Beach Lane. The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority said there could be a “significant increase” in levels and flows in the Mississippi and Carp River watersheds over the next few days with the significant rainfall of Wednesday along with melting snow.

Things might get dicey if temperatures continue to rise, as Environment Canada is predicting starting Sunday, with a string of sunny days ahead and daytime highs reaching 21 C forecast for Wednesday. “The shoreline adjacent to lakes, rivers and creeks is very slippery and poses a serious hazard,” said the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority.Article content
