A state senator from San Antonio is calling for an investigation after a Texas Department of Public Safety officer was caught on camera shoving the mother of one of the Uvalde school shooting victims.

A Texas Department of Public Safety officer was caught on camera shoving the mother of one of the Uvalde school shooting victims and now, a state senator is calling for a full investigation. Disclaimer: The video of the confrontation contains explicit language. Viewer discretion is advised.

Ana Rodriguez, whose daughter Maite Rodriguez was among 19 students and two teachers killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School last year, tried to check out her son to attend a protest against gun violence. Uvalde CISD was aware of the planned walkouts and intended to allow students to participate. However, parents at Flores Elementary said students weren’t allowed to leave or they could face repercussions, including a possible three-day suspension.

In the video, Ana Rodriguez is seen knocking on the door of the elementary school and showing her ID, as part of the protocol, before going inside.

Uvalde will never happen again in the sense that police won’t storm in there guns blazing ie. Nashville. But also the parents won’t be held back like this. As a parent I’ll ram my car through every barricade if I feel the police are doing nothing like in Uvalde.

Was she disobeying a lawful order to move or disperse? Is she now above the Law?

Can we not let these children lay in peace? I’m not belittling this tragedy, but am tiered of hearing it come up every other day. The year anniversary is coming up. Let’s us revere that day as is should be, a sad day in South Texas history occurring in a Hispanic community. RIP
