The championships, which will occur in Kitty Magee Arena on the campus of TWU, will feature Division I, II and III schools that offer less than eight full scholarships per team, said Rachel Duke, the communications coordinator at USA Gymnastics.

The Pioneers took home their 12th national championship last year, and they look to win their 13th on their home floor.During practice, Podges enters the gym with an eager smile, waving to her teammates and coaches. By the time she reached high school in Lexington, Ky., Podges was competing at a level 10 -- the highest level a gymnast can reach before college. But it was during these four years that she began to develop a troubling relationship with gymnastics.

Two months into TWU’s pre-season, she tore her ACL, forcing her to sit out for her entire freshman season. Eight months later, in 2020, she was back home for physical rehab, but COVID-19 made recovery difficult. With each injury, the recovery process felt harder and longer, but Pierce looked to her mother for guidance and reassurance.

University of Utah Health announces masks now optionalUniversity of Utah Health announced it has moved to optional masking for patients, visitors, faculty and staff in most clinical locations. Two years too late. Gosh finally. Better late than never! Unless one is immunocompromised, the covid is not a danger anymore. It’s about time. I had cataract surgery in December and was appalled they still required masks. Once I got past the front desk no one in the eye center made me keep the mask on. I will never again choose a Dr at U of U because of their idiotic mask policies that served no purpose
