Metro Nashville Police Chief John Drake told CNN that police officers met with Covenant School officials and Hale's parents and have not discovered anything pointing to complications that Hale had with the school. It was earlier stated that the shooter may have carried a"sense of resentment" toward the school.
"As of right now, we don’t have any indication there was any problems at the school or at home,” Drake said. “We can’t confirm any type of problems at this time.” The student victims are Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all age 9. The adult victims are Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61.
“I’ve looked back in my annuals, and I do remember her as a former student,” Campbell said. “She was just one of our young ladies. ... She was just a typical co-ed, a typical student.”
