The University of Kwa-Zulu Natal is investigating reports of a massive student accommodation scam at the institution. ECRNewsWatch KZN

The Sunday Times is reporting that an underground network of UKZN staff and former SRC officials have allegedly extorted as much as R80 million from landlords renting accommodation to students.

The group includes three UKZN staff members, two former SRC presidents and one SRC member based at the Howard College campus.But it adds it cannot comment further due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.
