The Florence museum housing Michelangelo’s Renaissance masterpiece the “David” invited parents and students from a Florida charter school to visit after complaints about a lesson featuring the statue forced theFlorence Mayor Dario Nardella also tweeted an invitation for the principal to visit so he can personally honor her. Confusing art with pornography was “ridiculous,” Nardella said.
But the board of the Tallahassee Classical School pressured Principal Hope Carrasquilla to resign last week after an image of the “David” was show to a sixth-grade art class. Carrasquilla has said two parents complained because they weren’t notified in advance that a nude would be shown, while a third called the iconic statue pornographic.
Out of control, it’s a historical artistic figure. What age are they taught about sexual education? It’s art nothing more. Next ban all art. Ban history too.

She was let go for other reasons.
As a person who is a parent & who has also been fortunate enough to see the original David & replicas in Italy- Floridian parents should educate themselves before making uneducated comments about this piece of historical art.
The answer is ‘no’. There should be no debate about this. Being naked is not pornographic.
