West Texas A&M students demand reinstatement of drag show labeled 'divisive' by university president

A representative for WTAM said in an email that they cannot comment on the petition due to pending litigation.

"As a performance exaggerating aspects of womanhood , drag shows stereotype women in cartoon-like extremes for the amusement of others and discriminate against womanhood. Any event which diminishes an individual or group through such representation is wrong.," Wendler wrote in the letter. on campus when they received racist comments on social media after hosting a quinceañera celebration. Wendler also said he would not support"Blackface" performances on WTAM's campus and referenced texts from various religions and Newton's Third Law of Motion.
