public meeting on the state takeover started with even more interruptions than Tuesday night's meeting.
Dr. Sergio Lira, a member of LULAC, spoke along with Spanish-speaking community members who argue TEA is not giving Hispanics a voice. TEA Deputy Commissioner Alejandro Delgado, who had trouble speaking to the crowd Tuesday night, said over 200 questions were submitted in the last meeting. Half of them were questions from parents and residents interested in learning more about the BOM. The other half had other questions about the process.Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath talks with FOX 26 about the TEA announcement.
He also stated TEA would not be running the district. "Lies! You lie!" shouted many of the community members. State Representative Ron Reynolds speaks with FOX 26's Isiah Carey following the official announcement from the Texas Education Agency that they will be taking over Houston Independent School District.
So basically activist prevent parents from getting their questions asked as their schools continue to fail. A majority of parents, by Fox's own polling, and yet this nonsense continues.
Womens want they free baby sitting … 👶🏾
So parents are proud that their kids can’t read? That their kids are t safe? They support the failing schools? Obviously this is why they need to be taken over. Too many local people don’t care. It’s all about politics and virtue signaling.
I’m surprised they don’t have a fleet of trucks driving slowly around Town announcing the takeover on repeat!
Thank you Dr. LiraSerg for speaking Truth! Tx Ed Agency is disrespecting the community. I was there and PROUD to witness the community reclaim their voice. This is just a preview of how TEA will attempt to disempower us. Not today. Not tonight. Not ever. HISD txlege txed

If TEA can’t run a meeting, how can it run HISD? (Editorial)The Texas Education Agency's public meeting in HISD was a scene of chaos and community... Just imagine what will happen when TEA imposes 'taxation without representation' on the people of HISD and directs their appointees to turn the district's schools over to charter school operators. They ain't seen nothing yet. Thank my God, the community is alive, fight, fight, fight.. Yes. Keep it up. There will be plenty of low paying jobs for the graduates of HISD keepHISDshitty
