She also posted: “Can I please get everyone here tomorrow? Would you show up? John Rankin School, Newbury. Who would support?”It comes after Julia Waters said her sister, Ms Perry, had experienced the “worst day of her life” when inspectors reviewed the school in November.

A petition calling for an inquiry into the inspection of Caversham Primary School has more than 39,000 signatures. “Having spoken with Ruth’s family, we know they are determined that something like this should never happen again. It is important that everyone listens to what they have to say.” “Given the strength of feeling and the need for a period of calm reflection, Ofsted should pause inspections this week.”

Geoff Barton, general secretary of the Association of School and College Leaders , said: “We’ve seen that a headteacher has tweeted their intention to refuse entry to an Ofsted inspection team, and this shows very clearly the strength of feeling following the tragic death of Ms Perry. Headteacher to refuse Ofsted inspection following Ruth Perry deathHeadteacher of Caversham Primary School, Ruth Perry, took her own life on 8 January after a damning Ofsted report downgraded the school's overall rating from outstanding to inadequate. Good for her. Ofsted is as useless an indicator of quality as the CQC. Tell you nothing of systems and culture, only who's best at PR. I once had training from actors in advance of a CQC inspection. Useless. I refuse to take my car for an MOT ever again Incase I'm told it's inadequate to drive and it damages my mental health

Headteacher 'blocks Ofsted inspection' in protest after head Ruth Perry, 53, took her own life over ‘inadequate’ ratingA headteacher has said she is ‘taking a stand’ and is refusing to let Ofsted inspect her school after the death of Ruth Perry, who took her own life after her school was downgraded to ‘inadequate’ Good for her. Ofsted requires a MASSIVE overhaul. It needs to be supportive and help schools improve, not put the fear of God into every teacher when they get the dreaded call. So many good teachers have left the profession because of this, and, as with Ruth, some have even died because of it.
