It’s lights out for now on an artificial-turf field for an elementary school set to be constructed in south Langford.
He said Langford could still come to the table but it would involve changing the terms of the construction tender. It was brought up in the municipality’s five-year budget plan, but nothing has been decided, he said. The announcement of who will build the school will be made after spring break, Parmar said, and construction is expected to begin in the second half of May.

Such a win/win if the lights go in! Grass field w proper drainage w lights is awesome! Regular grass is always better, especially elementary school. None of my kids schools shut down their grass fields.
Ravi Parmar on March 13 in the Goldstream Gazette stated that the SD had the money in their reserve to pay for turf themselves. Evidence they do not need Langford taxpayer money and they have politicised the issue.
I guess the cinder gravel we had as kids won’t work now.

Too bad the mayor and council chose their agenda over giving the kids a year round lit field. The study saying we have adequate fields until 2031 is so out of touch with reality
