Dermot Mulroney, 59, is an actor who starred in the films “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “The Family Stone” and “August: Osage County.” He currently stars in the film “Scream VI.” He spoke with Marc Myers. My love for the cello began when I was in third grade. Our elementary school in Alexandria, Va., had taken us to hear the Alexandria City Orchestra. They performed “Peter and the Wolf” and Benjamin Britten’s “Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra,” which showcased each instrument on stage.
