SPD: Man shot after honking back at suspect near UW campus

Police Department , just before 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the corner of Roosevelt Way NE and NE 42nd St. for reports of a shooting. This area is across the street from UW Medical Center.

When officers arrived, they found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg, and immediately brought him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Friends of the victim were on scene, and were interviewed by police. They were inside the vehicle when the shooting happened. when a man in a silver sedan honked at them from behind. As they drove away, the victim’s friend honked back. Then the suspect got out of his car and flashed a gun from his waist area. Featured
