Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was killed in a lunchtime shooting in Northeast Philadelphia. The boy was at least the 17th public school student killed in the city this academic year, the Philadelphia School District said.
According to police, officers responded to the 6100 block of Algon Avenue, at about noon, where a 15-year-old had been shot about 10 times -- at least five times in the torso and five times in the leg.
