Ronald Kent Jr. has put together a strong season with Central Michigan after transferring in as a grad student from Western Carolina. Former Harrisburg standout out defensive back Ronald Kent Jr. is living proof that with hard work and determination, you can accomplish whatever you set out to do.
He isn’t the biggest athlete out on the gridiron — he’s 5-foot-9 and 176 pounds — but he plays with the biggest heart. Not to mention, he is extremely fast and understands the game of football very well, which has worked to his advantage throughout his career so far, despite his size.And next week at Central Michigan University, Kent Jr. will get a shot at showing scouts what he can do at his NFL Pro Day. Kent Jr. has trained with Jawon Chisholm Jr. — another former Harrisburg football standout and local trainer that has been on the podcast — who he gives major props to for training him daily, in most cases, multiple times a day. He’s also worked out with notable guys like former CD East High track and field coach, Mike Galloway, and former Harrisburg and Penn State track standout Hanif Johnson, who have helped him with his speed and agility so he can run the best 40-yard dash of his life.
In his last college football season with Central Michigan — he played at Western Carolina before transferring in 2022 — Kent Jr. recorded 55 tackles, along with a sack and 15 pass breakups. He has the heart of a lion, and next Wednesday, he said he’s ready to give it all he’s got.
