James Gartshore was naked and 'on drugs' when police arrived

A pharmacy student who works part-time at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, as part of his studies, spat on a police officer while naked.

Prosecutor Carrie Stevens said: “He was noted to be erratic and officers tried to calm him down. While doing so, Gartshore spat on PC Pritchard face with the spit landing on his cheek.” Pat Campbell, defending, told the court Gartshore is two-and-a-half years into a pharmacy course at the University of Strathclyde.
