Here’s how to get tickets to see Phil Lesh and Friends at Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University.

Phil Lesh is heading back to Stanford.

The legendary Grateful Dead bassist has announced a May 5 date at the university’s Frost Amphitheater with his Phil Lesh and Friends group.This Friends lineup features James Casey, Natalie Cressman, Jason Crosby, Jennifer Hartswick, Marcus King, Tony Leone and Grahame Lesh. The Frost holds special significance for many fans, given that the Grateful Dead performed there 14 times during its storied career. Also, the band got its start in the Palo Alto area.

Last year, Phil Lesh and Friends — with a lineup that included Grahame Lesh, Scott Metzger, Joe Russo, John Scofield and Benmont Tench — drew a large crowd to watch them perform at Frost. The show included such Dead favorites as “Truckin’” and “Playing in the Band.”
