A Brooklin Catholic school isn’t letting students out for recess, after a wild animal was spotted skulking around nearby.
A parent with a child attending John Paul II Catholic School reached out to Durham Radio News about a “vicious racoon” warning they received on Thursday. In it, the school’s principal says students have been kept indoors, after a “large volatile racoon” was seen “lurking” near the school.“We have kept the students indoors today because we continue to see it through the [school] windows,” the letter explains.
School officials also mention a “resident fox” who’s also been seen nearby. But unlike the racoon, the fox isn’t described as “volatile” or “vicious.” “Apparently these animals think that [the school is] already on March Break,” the letter concludes. “I would not keep students inside on such a beautiful day if it wasn’t necessary.”Ctrl+Enter
