The district also decided “out of an abundance of caution” to proactively close the libraries of Bear Valley Elementary, Fire Lake Elementary, and Ravenwood Elementary, which share the same building design with Klatt and Spring Hill. “There is no risk of catastrophic collapse,” the email said. “There is a risk of ceiling pieces coming down. Parents claim Davis School District denied their daughter lifesaving care, in new lawsuitThe parents of a 14-year-old with severe disabilities have filed a lawsuit claiming that the Davis School District is denying their daughter potentially lifesaving accommodations. This is a tough one. Is it the public school's duty to cater to every divers need of a minority of students? Or does public school have the responsibility to assure that the majority are educated? Honest question, because I know individual needs can carry heavy financial burdens. Maybe the child would be better suited in a private school. The parents could use their $8000 to subsidize. Not trying to be harsh but public schools are financially challenged and it’s going to get worse. The school district has to provide the aid? Is it not the responsibility of the parents to pay for the accommodation of their child?
