More than 35 parents of children in a Grade 1 class at the Toronto school where a 6-year-old boy was allegedlyhave signed a petition in support of their teacher, who they call “extremely dedicated, attentive, and caring.”
The advocacy group Parents of Black Children intervened last week, and the school board said in a statement it is “committed to taking the required steps on each action reported to us.” “We recognize that there is no place in the John Fisher Public School community for racism or discrimination of any kind,” reads the petition. “[The teacher] worked hard to create a safe learning environment for all of our children.”
'The teacher himself is a racialized gentleman'. Okay, this is where your entire problem begins right here. What does this even mean? We really need to stop labeling things just to be heard. People are being destroyed with simple words needlessly.
Here we go again. When the mother says she put a recording device on the child to record him being locked in the small room I am confused!! Sounds like a setup to me. Time outs are a fair and normal form of discipline and Ibsee no problem with it.
This is sickening. Why is it that their being locked in a room? Who's actually keeping an eye on them and if there's more than one incident why isn't the teacher gone?
There is nothing fair about this The teacher should lose her job. No one should lock up a child or segregate them in the classroom. It has to stop and only by firm action will people learn we are all created equal

The mother of this child claims to have a “secret recording” as she sent her child to school with a recording device in his pants but won’t release the tape? Something doesn’t make sense here.
Some children are just plain old obnoxious and not fun to be around..period. Some parents need to deflect from their bad parenting skills and special needs kids by playing the race card. Stop blaming everything that happens on racism.
Why are they bringing these problem people here to this Country. They should be bringing Ukrainians and Russians that are trying desperately to escape War. Quality people that assimilate well into our culture.

I stand with the teacher. The mother should do a better job in raising that rotten 6 year old than claiming fake racism.
An injured child needs out weight the questionable comforts of another. Would this have even made the news if the child was white? No, the news would be 'unruly student hinders staff while attending to an injured child'. Its going to be a $250,000 payout,
30 something kids are without their teacher because a 6 year old has told some stories.

All I heard from parents on the news was support for teacher. They want him back. Not one said let’s find out for the sake of this child!!!
By putting this story out there without any of the facts from either side, all that will happen is tensions will be stoked and hostilities will be created towards the teacher, parents and the accusers. It is a lose lose for everyone involved unfortunately
