Senators on Tuesday grilled an Adamson University official over the school's alleged non-action despite being aware of the presence of the Tau Gamma Phi in the campus.

Testifying during the hearing by the Senate justice committee, Adamson Student Affairs director Atty. Jan Nelin Navallasca admitted being aware of Tau Gamma’s “alleged presence” in the university.

Senator Raffy Tulfo, for his part, castigated Navallasca for “not doing anything” regarding Tau Gamma Phi.In defense, Navallasca said it is the school's policy not to recognize fraternities and sororities. Tulfo, however, said the school has an obligation to inform the authorities about the existence of unrecognized groups in their campuses.

Also during the hearing, committee members pushed for the punishment of reclusion perpetua for school administrators, house owners, and all fraternity officials who did not do anything despite having knowledge of ongoing hazing rites.

Frat members rejected suggestion to bring Salilig to hospital —witnessTau Gamma Phi members declined to bring Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig to the hospital after he suffered from seizure during the hazing rites, a witness told a Senate panel Tuesday. They should already prohibit this stupid hazing practices of fraternities. It should be a criminal law and put all the accused in jail. Its murder. I will never understand the logic why you need to hurt and kill a person in the spirit of brotherhood. That is complete BS. These members do not deserve to be in the Brotherhood and in our society. Rip them of membership in the Tau Gamma Phi.. I hate them because they murdered their very own brother!!! Expel them they destroyed our image!!!
