Since taking power in August 2021, Islamic movement has curtailed women’s rights and access to education

The Taliban seized power in August 2021, drastically curtailing women’s freedoms and rights, including their ability to attend secondary school and university. In a report covering July to December 2022, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan, Richard Bennett, found that the Taliban’s treatment of women and girls “may amount to gender persecution, a crime against humanity”.

“The Taliban’s intentional and calculated policy is to repudiate the human rights of women and girls and to erase them from public life,” Bennett told the United Nations Human Rights Council. “It may amount to the international crime of gender persecution for which the authorities can be held accountable.”

This would be the same UN that thinks killing your own child is a human right.

Ah no now that the UN are far right racists Ireland will be welcoming the Taliban men with open arms, a safe warm bed, money to send, women to harass/rape/murder.

From the EU/US/UK perspective, only Russians can be judged for crime against humanity. The persecution, killing, stoning, hanging, of women in Afghanistan for past decades, and known by the entire world, is a cultural problem. Nothing to worry about.

No shit! I’d ask where they’ve been, but apparently the UN have jumped on the trans lunacy train and think men can be women, thus perpetuating the violence against women.

Not a could, a proven fact for decades.

You won't see an Irish government giving refuge to these women and girls. Think about how the US and Irish media were telling us how the US was winning the war right up until the last week. Freedom and all that tripe. We can only give them refuge if US permits. Ukraine is proof.
