FINE GAEL TD Joe Carey has spent the past two nights on a trolley at University Hospital Limerick after being admitted on Saturday evening.
“The ambulance crew were simply amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism and care. Hopefully I’ll be out and about before too long,” Carey said.A total of 525 admitted patients were waiting for beds in hospitals across the country this morning, according to the INMO. The downgrading of Ennis Hospital, as well as other similarly sized hospitals in Limerick city and Nenagh, has been highlighted by doctors and health campaigners in the Midwest as the key factor behind the overcrowding.
The service will operate from 8am to 8pm but is not open to the public in general – a referral is required. Paramedics will transport patients to the unit until 6pm.

Why is this News.? Carey is enjoying good Health care , This is what he votes for evey week in leinster House. It is Government policy working the way Government intended.
The journal trying to give the impression that he's just like the rest of us, was he rushed off to a private hospital after the photo op?
I wish him well but he’s only seeing first hand what it’s like for people every day.

Limerick Regional Hospital has been a disaster for at least 15 years. I visited a relation of mine in there 12 years and it was like a war zone then...It must be the worst managed or lack of it in the whole Country...The toilets were so dirty that we used the Toilets in a Hotel.
That's a long time to go without a piss, if you leave trolley for toilet, someone else in there when you return.
Lucky him, usually 3+ nights on a chair or floor unless you go straight to ICU by ambulance.

Absolutely no sympathy for him. He is part of the problem and probably voted against everything to do with the health services. What goes around comes around. Surprised he hasn't got private care.
