Superintendent Millard House II said the state of the schools is strong, that past issues have been resolved, and fewer schools are in trouble."The issues that TEA had with HISD in 2019 no longer apply in 2023. Perhaps the district is too big. Splitting into N S E and W might be an alternative. One district superintendent with four assistant superintendents, one for each area. If the state takes over. district is going to be a real mess. The state will not have the manpower to keep up.

Just because the TEA takes over a school district doesn't mean it's permanent or HISD will be chopped up or closed altogether.
