An East High School student who was shot while sitting in his car outside of the Denver school last monthLuis Garcia, 16, was a junior at East and played on the varsity soccer team.described the teenager as “an extremely hard worker.”“Luis always helps his family in every which way he can,” Santos Garcia told The Denver Post in an interview last month.Following the shooting, officials with the Denver Police Department said it hadbut that they did not know the motive.
A 17-year-old is being investigated for illegal possession of a handgun, and a 16-year-old is being investigated for auto theft and felony eluding. But neither were arrested on charges related specifically to the shooting, according to police.
