University will provide next update at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus is being closed for the rest of Tuesday due to heavy snowfall.

On social media, the post-secondary institution said campus buildings remain open, but the Bennett Library and Lorne Davies Sports Complex will be closed and all in-person classes, exams, university services and campus activities are cancelled for the entire day. "We will continue to monitor weather conditions and will provide an update tomorrow by 6 a.m. about the status of campuses being open on March 1," another tweet said.

SFU said all in-person classes at its Surrey and Vancouver campuses as well as online classes will proceed as scheduled. A snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada for Metro Vancouver, including Burnaby, says up to 10 cm of snow is expected today.
