a Jersey City school teacher was ordered detained at Hudson County jail through his trial Monday, a decision his attorney called a “death sentence.”
Santana fled to Florida because he was assaulted between Feb. 5 and Feb. 7, an attack related to Hernandez having gone missing, Bilinkas said. The attorney also told the court he provided the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office with a transcript and audio of a phone call in which Santana is told that a street gang is going kill him, his mother and his sister.
Santana is charged with murder, hindering, failing to dispose of human remains in a manner prescribed by law and tampering with physical evidence.
