Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the state’s third-largest system, also offers one of the higher starting salaries in the region, at $60,500. The district offered two $500 recruitment and retention stipends for full-time professional staff, one to be paid in the fall semester and the other to be paid in the spring semester.

Although federal and state funding led to significant increases in teacher compensation, salary increases have not kept up with recent inflation rates, and Texas ranks 28th in the nation for average teacher salary, according to the state report. We can come up with better ways to educate children. The current system obviously doesn't work well. It's expensive, inefficient, and full of political indoctrination. The kids are just getting dumber.

You know what's free? Respect, staying out of their way, and having their backs against the nutjobs.

Teachers should definitely be paid more, I know too many teachers who have a 2nd job because their teaching pay check isn't enough. Money isn't everything but everyone deserves enough to cover their bills and put savings in a rainy day fund comm2328
