George Melitides • The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Charlottetown Rural Raiders have won their eighth consecutive championship in the P.E.I. School Athletic Association Senior AAA Girls Basketball League.
“I’m really glad that I got to spend my last year with this group of girls. It’s been wonderful, and we’ve come so far and it’s just great to be able to win,” said McGeoghegan in a post-game interview with SaltWire Network.There were some nerves, she said, but everyone came together and encouraged each other, even though it was tough at the start.
However, the Raiders got up by 10 points and maintained a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
