All 64 SUNY schools will require freshman to take a 'Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice' course beginning this fall. With student debt at a colossal $2 trillion nationwide, some argue this is another example of colleges wasting funds.

, students taking these courses should learn to"describe the historical and contemporary societal factors that shape the development of individual and group identity involving race, class, and gender";"analyze the role that complex networks of social structures and systems play in the creation and perpetuation of the dynamics of power, privilege, oppression, and opportunity"; and"apply the principles of rights, access, equity, and autonomous participation to past,...

This terrible policy exemplifies the problem with higher education. A class meeting some arbitrary diversity, equity, and inclusion requirement does not help students gain the knowledge they need to work in their desired field. If someone goes to school for nursing, they should take courses related to nursing and the skills they need to become a nurse.

SUNY Hey SUNY, why add an unnecessary class into the freshman course load? This is an unnecessary waste of taxpayer and donor money. Stick to teaching these students what they need to know to be effective in their field of study.

SUNY Indoctrinating students with far left propaganda to convince them that the most privileged people in society are actually the most oppressed.

SUNY Some college degree are useless. Recently I met a 52 year old who graduated from 4 year college from Uconn and his an amazon deliverey driver and an uber driver. So, he went to 4 years of college to be a driver. What a waste of time, money. Now, they want taxpayer money for debt

SUNY Is math also required?

SUNY

SUNY SUNY sucks, should be 3 year degrees not 4, administration as a % of tuition has risen 100% since 1980's, a waste of taxpayer's $$$
