Two schools in an Essex County district were placed on lockdown Wednesday as authorities investigated a possible threat to staff and students, authorities said. Livingston High School and Heritage Middle School both were locked down in the morning due to “an active investigation,” the district said in a brief statement on Facebook.
“The lockdowns have been released and the individuals involved were identified and are no longer on school grounds,” the statement said. “There is no longer any threat to students or staff.” If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
