Crosby ISD will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the high school beginning at 5:30 p.m. concerning the possibility of switching to a 4-day school week instead of the current 5-day week.Crosby ISD is considering changing from a five-day school week to a four-day week with slightly longer days. The topic will be the center of conversation during a public meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crosby High School.
Some smaller Houston area districts including Liberty ISD, Tarkington ISD, Devers ISD, and Hardin ISD, all in Liberty County, have either already switched to four-day weeks or are moving to that model this fall. According to the plan that is being touted by the district, teachers in the district currently work 187 days at 8 hours per day. In the new plan, that would be reduced to 176 days at 8.5 hours per day, a reduction of 11 calendar days.
