The Basic Education Department is yet to meet its target towards the eradication of pit latrines at some rural schools in provinces such as Limpopo and the Eastern Cape.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of the school governing body at Mohwibidu Primary School at Ga-Setati in Limpopo, Johanna Mogokong says their learners still do not have safe toilets.

These pit toilets should have been changed long time ago which minister or part of the cabinet has one. It is shameful that any person in this country should need to use this. Do away with private hospitals and schools,all humans should be treated with dignity
