Protesters rallied in front of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Holmesburg Wednesday morning after a racist video, showing students in blackface, circulated on social media the day before.
The girl with the blackface then declares: “I’m Black and I’m proud!” Other girls present laugh throughout the video. “She felt as though there was other racist issues in the school and every time she tried to voice her voice her opinion — like she actually went to the president, went to the principal — they did absolutely nothing about it,” said Martin.
“Earlier today it came to our attention that a handful of students posted images and videos on a social media platform of a racially charged nature,” Lizanne Pando, the school’s president, and Gina MacKenzie, the principal, said in the posted statement.
I really hope discipline means they get expelled. Nothing less can happen here.
I always find it comical to at when prominent Democrats and Democrat entertainers are found to have done blackface, they give a “I’m sorry, my bad….Thank you for allowing me the chance to grow…..” and then they’re absolved. I don’t see many Republicans doing blackface.
Discipline them, move on. They’re kids. Anyone who would sue the Catholic diocese over something like this is heartless.
Sue the school, they broke no laws.
