On the first day of Black History Month, the College Board introduced the official curriculum for its new Advanced Placement course in African American Studies.

The course was first announced last August but David Coleman, the head of the College Board, said that the board decided on the final framework after feedback from educators and students and principles that have guided and served as the ultimate foundation of AP courses. Along with teachers and students, the board worked with 300 professors of African American Studies from hundreds of colleges nationwide, including dozens of historically Black colleges.

Coleman said the course will allow students to complete student projects that can examine several topics, including the ones that were on the earlier framework, if they choose to.

black history is Feb!!!!!!!!!!!

Whos going out in the Community and reminding people the services available to them? Blacks are stubborn like Scandinavians they dont want to see Drs. Old ways of thinking - No Shame in the medical game - thats why the mortality rates of African Americans prevail

Maybe that was fine - ladies like I have nowhere to go no family no friends - Hospitals better than living on the streets til I can find my way. I felt her at the moment my femur broken into 3 pieces and if I didnt have ppl I needed to take care of at home... y not

One time I was a hospital room mate with a black woman who had no where to go. Nothing really wrong with her but she wasnt ready to leave the hospital. It was during Covid and I felt like a psychiatric facility would possibly be her better fit but whatever - Drs call

I hope they removed the Marxism, the call violent revolution, and the queer theory material out of the course, and replaced it with black history.

Just sayin like if a black/hispanic or whatever race is on their list family goes to DSH with the same problem as a Caucasian with children the results differ greatly. Try it - scope it out - system. Its not what people think- its like Youre white go get a fkn job slob

I'll tell you why white women and children are the true minority - we dont have the same programs - we dont qualify for many programs designed to help other races - same problem different treatment. I agree with treating all humans equally but the pendulum swings

Cool - I think I earned my gold ring but had to pass it on for a reason unknown to me. There were a lot of haters though - single white women up in that but 30 yrs later I see were the true minorities. Target to enslave us to men

Why couldn't they have waited until at least the third day! Oh the humanity!

It is Black History Erasure Month.

Fascist white supremacists should not dictate what goes on in these classes.

Easy target for conservative politicians & media. Lever it professors to rebrand the same lesson plan, to get notoriety, federal grants, book deals, & press coverage all to the detriment of progress. Getting bogged down by titles & branding is not what teaching is about.
