The Mayor of Corner Brook says Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus is very important to the community and he’s concerned about the impact of the MUNFA strike.
Jim Parsons says it comes at a difficult time for students who are only now catching up on disruptions caused by the pandemic.He calls the campus a “huge economic generator” and a “cultural engine” bringing a lot of newcomers to the city. “I want this to be over as quickly as possible” says Parsons, and he’s urging both sides to come back to the table to bring an end to the strike.
