This is not new! What is new is that we, as a collective, have an opportunity to mitigate the risk that could lead to a serious health consequence. That has to be a win win for everyone!

And you can and will. Testing it for you is not our responsibility however.

The author of this piece is the type of idiot who would (a) go out fishing in a lightning storm with a carbon fibre rod, (b) smoke a cigarette while filling his car at the servo, or (c) both of the above

Help try and keep them safe till they grow out of it

Well, stew in your own juice then.

People who are so shallow, that they need drugs cannot blame others when something goes wrong.

'Reliable drug dealer' hahahahahaha.... oh that was good for the laugh..... Note to author: drug dealers want your money, they do not care about your health. They will sell you a pill with rat poison, bleach or much worse. There is no safe pill. DarwinAwardContender

The amount of blatant ignorance in response to this insightful article demonstrates why their continues to be avoidable deaths at every Australian festival. 1/2

Haha! Would love a clearer definition of the 'reliable' drug dealer.

Haha! Would love a clearer definition of 'relibable' drug dealer.

I’m too old for festivals, or drugs. But I did plenty of both in my youth, without incident. & I’d do the same today. But it’d creep out my Grandkids!

Hope you have private health insurance so that taxpayer doesn’t have to bail you out when you fuck yourself up

People have choices this is self inflicted how about lowering the priority of ambulance attendance at festivals.

Knob

He/she probably deals drugs as well.

So...... if this 21 year old dies from taking these stupid drugs, I'm sure his parents will have some solace after being given and then reading this rubbish article he has written. If this is the mindset of the majority, then we are stuffed. I have a radical idea!DON'T DO DRUGS!

The old “reliable drug dealer”.

I suppose that's one way of reducing the planet's population - let 'em knock 'emselves off with these gateway drugs. Learn to have fun without drugs, it's not that hard, promise!

And he probably only eats non-GMO organic food because 'chemicals' in food are 'bad' for his health.

Left wing parents

As an aging baby boomer there is nothing new in what this guy is saying. Whilst I never took drugs, even marijuana, we saw it all, too. If they want to pop pills without knowing what they are injesting, who are we to judge? Just so long as we don’t have to pay for it, I suppose.

You are well entitled to do what ever you want, just as I am to give zero shit about you and the outcome of your choices. I wish you the best.

If they do..... so what. Are you speaking your left wing mind again the age? Trying to tell people what they can and cant do. Who cares what they do. They know the risks so let them do what they want

The author is 21. The brain’s decision making center is not fully developed until between 23 & 25. Darwin Award contenders all.

The fact that anonymous and friends aren't moved an inch when a peer dies of an overdose shows the selfish insensitivity that's at the heart of this culture.

No worries then, but would you mind paying the medical bills privately rather than draining taxpayers money to keep your sad body alive. A lazy $300,000 should cover it perhaps?

The fact that anonymous and friends aren't moved when a peer dies of an overdose shows the selfish insensitivity that's at the heart of drug-taking.

Excellent news.

Ban these mindless festivals they only cause kids harm

The music is that bad you need to take drugs?

Ah well that is one way to filter the Gene pool!

Why on earth would you publish this? Your decline in journalism sadly continues.

Fancy those police officers and drug dogs at the gates upsetting your illegal plans....the cheek of them

Take what you want, just please don’t be offended when I step over your convulsing body on the way to the toilet.

OPINION: I know all the risks but I'm still going to take drugs to enable me to write for The Age.

Don’t worry we’ll all blame the Politicians if anything happens to you.,,

Don't test pills, just let nature improve the gene pool by removing drongos who write for the Age.
