How all these adults missed a 6 year old with a gun is nothing less than extraordinary. It is clear that apathy is the resounding emotion in this community. No one cares, no one has initiative, no one is brave. Adults fear a 6 year old!! The administrator couldn't care less.
If the administration is still at that school, I'd be pulling my kids out. The administration is at fault and should be terminated immediately. As an employee, what a 'great' boss to have. This is wrong on so many levels, why is this happening in our country

This isn't making sense. So more than one teacher and administrator knew he had a gun on him, it was seen by a student who he threatened, and not one of these adults took him to the office or called police?

Good. Also, sue the fucking parents who allowed this to be possible to begin with. The parents are lying, and to suddenly claim the kid has a “mental disability” is garbage. Charge the parents, this is THEIR fault.
The teacher is right to sue. She had no authority to search a student for a damn gun. That is on the district to take all threats seriously regardless if age.
The school board uses band-aids to deal with this. Get a new superintendent only after the severance pay for the old one is worked out. Don't deal with the problem. Hopefully this teacher gets several million dollars.

The more I read about this the more confused I get. Another account says the teacher knew that day that the kid had a gun. How does the teacher not take the backpack, jacket, etc & check the kid for weapons? Ignoring every other adult who also should have acted, too.

What is a six year old doing with a gun, and then to shoot someone. This child was never taught that guns aren’t toys, you don’t touch them, you never aim it at anyone.
