Students wrote to Enoch Burke over attendance at school

In the letter, the student council listed a number of issues, saying that Mr. Burke's presence in a corridor was impacting learning and causing huge disruption.He was jailed in September after breaching a High Cout injunction directing him to stay away from the school and was released from Mountjoy Prison on 21 December.

The Council said that for many LGBTQI+ students, Mr Burke's presence in the school"is a daily reminder of the prejudices they feel". The council complained that Transition Year and Fifth Year students"feel they have no place to hang out" because of Mr Burke's presence. At the end of the letter, the council questioned Mr Burke's motivations and said if he cared for the students at the school, like he said he does, then why would he continue to cause disruption to their school life?It followed a disciplinary hearing involving Mr Burke, in relation to alleged gross misconduct at the school.

The wisdom, intelligence, and empathy of the students' letter stands in such contrast to the narcissistic rantings and lack of self awareness of their former teacher. They're well rid of him.

Don't know of any school in a normal democracy that values childrens rights and safety that would allow him on a school premises. Poor kids. Shocking. Presume if he shows up again he will be arrested. Does he need a mental health evaluation because this is NOT Normal behaviour😡

This article explains why the school had no choice but to go down the dismissal avenue. The disruption caused by Enoch Burke to the students and staff of Wilsons Hospital is significant. Can you imagine trying to teach or learn with that behavior going on around you?

I don't see how the lack of a German teacher for first years is Mr.Burks fault.

But why students might become LGBT?

So a teacher in a school was causing disruption to learning? Of course because those 'running' the school were not allowing him to teach. Did the student council write to the school board? Lack of depth again from RTE on this.
