The Department of Education is doing an excellent job. Unfortunately the same can not be said about the Department of Higher Education. Isn't it time to merge the two departments as in the past?
Fundamentally Mhlanga did not rebuttal the important facts raised by Mmusi 1. Apartheid education and the gloss pasted by the current government on the current education 2. Drop outs being left out Etc. Loadshedding can't continue
Then why are there such high levels of unemployment and skills shortages in key areas?
Improved pass rates are not a measure of success. Rural & Township SA is still Bantu Education. Despite OBE - youth unemployment is at an all time high. LO Market has done jack all to increase entrepreneurship. The default is still peace job seeking to a shrinking middle class.
