The family of a University of Georgia football player that died in a car crash with a staff member says they do not plan to sue the university.

Devin Willock's father Dave confirmed in a statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution Thursday that he had no plans to sue the university over his son's death. Willock's mother Sharlene Willock confirmed the same to 11Alive that day. Their respective revelations came three days before a celebration of life was held on Saturday for Willock's family and fellow teammates.

Athens-Clarke County police identified the offensive lineman, 20, and Georgia football recruiter Chandler LeCroy, 24 in the crash Sunday. LeCroy was driving a rental Ford Expedition when it crashed, which according to the crash report released by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, which was caused by an excess of speed. As a result of her speed, LeCroy failed to make a left turn and instead hit a curb, leaving the road to hit two poles and two trees.
