FILE - House Speaker Paul Renner, R-Palm Coast opens the Special Session Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at the Capitol in Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida would make every student eligible for vouchers to attend private school with taxpayer money under proposed legislation House Speaker Paul Renner said Thursday will be a priority for the session that begins in March.
“We already have more school choice children, more people that are using choice options in this state than any other state in the country,” Renner said during a news conference. “We're simply making sure no one's left out.”“Many people will stay right where they are because they're happy, but this is really about making sure that there is increased competition,” Renner said.
“Our Republican-led Legislature continues to attack our public schools — our teachers — making it very difficult for Florida to compete with the rest of the nation,” Driskell said during a news conference. “This sets our state back.”
Now make the Diocese of St. Augustine drop their vaccine mandate! As it stands, all children must have all vaxes, although idk about cv (God forbid). No exceptions. No religious exemptions. Ironic.
I think that is fantastic if affordable for the budgets.
Stop this insanity. Just support public schools and its teachers.
Because they want to defund public school, and privatize it. It’s bullshit, don’t send your kids to charter school or private school. Public school is where it’s at.I do wish they could stand up to the conservative agenda, but just taking your kid out is letting them win.
Do private schools teach anything but the Bible? 🇺🇸✝️🇺🇸 (I'm totally kidding... I think.) 😽
RIP Florida public schools.
I'm glad to see they are trying to make this equal for all. Wouldn't putting all this money into public schools, making them the best we can, benefit more kids?
This is so dangerous. If more kids go to private schools that means less kids learning about gender affirmation, BLM superiority and Ukraine being our biggest ally. How are we going to ensure that children still get the approved messages if they go to schools with less oversight.
Good. Watch the schools improve now.
