A school bus was stolen Wednesday from Livingston Public Schools in Essex County, prompting police and neighboring districts to ask parents to verify their child’s bus route and driver before allowing them to board.
“There is no specific threat, but anytime a school bus is stolen, there is a reason for concern,” Mark Toback, superintendent of Wayne Public Schools in Passaic County, said in a message to parents.and that the FBI has become involved in the investigation. Officials with the FBI, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and administrators with Livingston Public Schools were not immediately available to comment on the incident early Thursday.
Parents are being asked to be vigilant. Something they should already be. Everyone's got their eyes glazed over while staring at a screen of various sizes.
