This means the triangle is not complete (teacher-parent-child) communication, parent send child to school and expects teachers to be responsible for informal education...It's impossible
Important is that south african teachers have not been equipped for what is expected of them.
I would say YES
Yes pathetic quality.
Not at this day and age
It is of quantity looking at the standard
NO😤😤😤😤
What a stupid headline !!! We know it's NOT !!!! Please ...you can get 30% for a subject and pass 🤣🤣🤣 This proves that the education department is an EPIC FAIL !!!!!
No it’s not.
No, it's an indicator of lowered standards and a 30% pass requirement.
No
Yekelani man, quality yani.... Pupils have passed celebrate that
ermbates Definitely not. It is quite apparent that the standard has dropped dramatically. Among family & close friends I already know of one who achieved 8 distinctions and three with 7 distinctions. Back in my day the dux achieved 5 distinctions and to get one was a great achievement.
Not at all.
No definately not. If you know 30% of something you lack the knowledge of 70% thereof
It's one of the waste in AFRICA ,Botswana is better.
How can it
30% pass rate like really. It's obvious this government doesn't care about quality.
is 30% pass rate that made high matric pass rate this yr means quality thats da question u should be asking
Quality by whose standards? Lowering the pass rate really helped the kids that needed the necessary literacy skills to study trades. Those wishing to do engineering etc know what is required of them. Not everyone needs a distinction in matric to make it in life.
It depends. The quality is determined by relevancy of content. If pupils in their post matric does have good writing& communication skills, computer literate & one vocational skill this makes them to participate in all economic activities of the country.
A big NO! Isthe answer
It is just one indicator.
With a pass mark of 30% and NOT getting a 100% pass rate, the education system is a FAILURE!! And it all points to dismal leadership in the Dept of Basic Education!! AngieMustFall
If we have more bachelors this year than we did last year, then yes. Otherwise it's an indicator of effort. We still have a very big room for improvement - I'll also sing along and say we need to focus on schools in the rural areas, only then can we reach 90%+ pass rate.
Unfortunately not and the majority of our kids are probably not even ready for varsity. We are talking about a 12 year project - our education system has been inefficient at best. However there are pockets of excellence that we must replicate in future MatricResults2018
Employability and graduateness are sound barometers to measure the quality of basic education I opine.
Looks like the 30% pass mark is present at eNCA.
Stop with that stupid question, I heard enough of it already Nxx 😡
This is the most stupid question a public broadcaster can ask, Matric pass rate= pupils who passed/total number wrote exam x100, there is nowhere indicating quality
Not at all.the quality of our education is dismally low compared to other countries.this was done purposefully to boost passing numbers
HELL NO! It's an indicator that there's hope for this sorry sap we call a country known as South Africa.
Uhmmmm....
