An Atherton-based equestrian coach is facing 11 felony charges after he solicited a juvenile student for sex, authorities said, and investigators are searching for other possible victims.
Alec Lawler, 30, sent and received sexual photographs from a juvenile student and contacted them with intent to engage in sexual acts, according to a news release from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Lawler was arrested Jan. 5 in Riverside County after detectives obtained a warrant. Authorities did not specify when the alleged crimes had occurred, nor the age or city of residence of the alleged victim.
Lawler was charged with 11 felonies, including seven counts of distributing or showing pornography to a minor, two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of contacting a minor for sexual offense, according to Superior Court records. He was later released from custody on $140,000 bail.
