It should have been this way all along. I still have memories of being 7/8 years old and sitting at the school lunch table with nothing to eat bc we had no money on our account. I even remember lunch ladies yelling at me as a kid because we owed a few dollars on our account.
Why? Made my lunch everyday. Hot lunch was always a choice. The brothers would bring lunch and then sell their free lunch tickets to buy weed. $.30 for a rooter.

My 4 grandchildren wish the schools would have food i.e. hamburger/hot dog etc. that didn't come in plastic bags because when they take them out there soggy and mushy, and are nasty to touch.

Free would be great, but American schools feed their kids GARBAGE. I grew up on it, but if I had children I'd never let them eat it. Other countries feed their school kids healthy food like fresh veggies, healthy soup, etc. In America, we get pizza and hot dogs. Garbage.

Great News! Even Cleveland, TN offered free breakfasts and lunches, to every student, and Tennessee offers two free years of community college or technical school to every high school graduate, and Tennessee is a low-tax state.

I worked at a restaurant where teachers would meet once a week for breakfast and it was put on the school districts credit card so if they can eat free so can the children.
