Teachers do not have to strike to get attention, says education secretary

Meanwhile, head teachers will not strike in England after a ballot by the National Association of Head Teachers union failed to meet the legally-required 50% turnout threshold. NAHT members in Wales will take industrial action, however, after the ballot there met the required turnout. He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that there had been a "hardening of attitudes" and the dispute had been "coming for years".

'Keegan said the 'key problem' was inflation and the government was working to halve it this year'. 🤦 1) it's falling all by itself. 2) even if it is 5% next year, it's from a 10% higher base, so it just compounds the problem. Pfft!

Would be nice to have an education secretary who's not completely incompetent or in the role for more than 10 minutes. Decent dialogue might be possible then.
