Martin delivered Claire at home with the help of Hebert and her sister Katherine Nolter .As an elementary school teacher nearing her pregnancy due date, Sarah Martin had just one request. She absolutely did not want to have her baby born at school.

“I had an appointment on that Tuesday and I just kind of figured that at my appointment, they’d probably send me to the hospital, so I figured it was coming soon.” Nolter didn’t necessarily waste time, but she admits she didn’t really get the urgency of the situation.
