Memorial University is hosting the conference, Reimagining Leadership: Portraits of Courage, at the St. John's Convention Centre on March 2. FileST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Memorial University is hosting a women's leadership conference at the St. John’s Convention Centre on March 2., which brought together more than 300 people of diverse backgrounds.

This year’s edition, Reimagining Leadership: Portraits of Courage, will feature keynote speaker activist and advocate Elizabeth Smart, who was abducted as a child in 2002 for nine months. Smart will speak about her story and recovery.Additionally, award-winning Indigenous fashion designer Sage Paul and two-time Olympian Perdita Felicien will speak.

There will also be a panel discussion featuring Kanani Penashue Davis, Christine Goudie and Zainab Jerrett. The panel discussion will be hosted by Leila Beaudoin. A group of musical artists will also entertain throughout the day. The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
