To be in the audience for Sky News' debate on the future of the NHS, live from University Hospital Coventry with Anna Botting next week, email NHSCrisis@sky.uk.

Sky News is hosting a live TV debate, and you could be in the audience.

Kicking off a major ongoing project on the future of the National Health Service, the hour-long debate will take place on Thursday 26 January, live from University Hospital Coventry.A shortage of doctors, nurses and beds means waiting lists are at record highs. Even before the COVID pandemic, NHS performance targets - including ambulance and A&E waiting times - were already getting worse.

Add to that the ever-growing wave of NHS strikes, along with the relationship between healthcare and social care, and the health service is shaping up to be one of the big political battlegrounds of the year.

Managed like a 💩show NHS has no chance...

All it’s got to do is last 18mths and the demise of the Tories.

Radical action is needed.Stop bed blocking, open convalescent facilities, improve social care, stop providing free treatment for foreign nationals, train more doctors and nurses and RETAIN them, only pay agencies a rate similar to NHS pay, charge for non emergency attendances at A&E

The government should be sacked for driven down the NHS over last 12 years

It can survive by removing the Tories from power.

I don’t think it can survive how it is at the moment it needs one massive shake-up. With all the right management in place it could be the envy of the world. We have excellent doctors and nurses in the NHS.of course there are some not good!!

How could something receiving £190 BILLION per year, the most money in its history on an inflation-adjusted per capita basis, not survive? Where is the money going? Who is held accountable for how it is spent?

Get rid of the middle management and all these nurses that chat all day even when people are dieing in front of them ,stick me in a hospital, half of the money waisters would be gone

Not a hope. It's done. To many people use it but make zero contribution to it. Full of people who self inflict. Drinking, smoking eating shit food is the cause of most disease and illness. Change your diet. Change your life. Cut the sugar.

Hey Sky, where is the story about Nadhim Zahawi or Suella Braverman? We all know about it, you are the NEWS! Why don't you know?

Yes why not

Should the NHS survive?

Unfortunately sentimentality gets in the way of having a proper debate about the NHS. Few people would argue about the what a good job nurses & doctors do. But just throwing more money at the problem without radical reform won't solve it. Management is the fundamental problem.
