Last year saw school bullying being linked to multiple cases of suicide of learners under the age of 16.

JOHANNESBURG - With the new school year under way, the Basic Education Department said that pupils and parents should be reminded that any form of bullying could result in suspension, even if it happened off the school premises. The department has urged teachers and school governing bodies to implement the appropriate punishment.

The department's Elijah Mhlanga: "The biggest challenge happens when these learners are fighting outside the school premises, which is when ordinary members of society also need to play their part and put a stop to school violent tendencies amongst children of school-going age.""Schools are expected to take action, call the parent into the school, discuss the matter with the parent or guardian and suspend the child or children where that is needed.

It won't. Only the kid who fights back gets suspended. that's how it's always worked.

They must suspend the ANC

First our children need to be placed in a school to bully, be bullied or suspended. Priorities

Bullying must lead to expulsion. Let the little devils be homeschooled and learn that antisocial behavior isn’t tolerated by the society. The problem is that the decision on bullying is taken by people with no kids in school

Oh. Only that. Wow.

In other news: water is wet

Only when it involves homosexuality and teenage pregnancy...Loadshedding

Bullies need to be expelled not suspended as they have the will and guys to carry these acts .Their guardians or parents must deal with them and pay for private education if they want them educated.Lessons must be taught the hard way

Good

Wait all this time bullies were not being suspended

Kids AND teachers who bully, should be expelled!!!

OPINIONISTA: You’re wrong, Gayton McKenzie: Undocumented children do have the right to basic educationThe Patriotic Front’s Gayton McKenzie’s statements that undocumented children should not be admitted to schools are not just misinformed and xenophobic, they are contrary to the law. And such irresponsibility in the public service sphere must be held accountable Firstly being undocumented could mean they are in the country illegally therefore CANNOT be allowed to use our country's resources and facilities. South African budget and schools can only accommodate South African children. Legaly speaking & quoting the SA Immigration Act, Act 13 of 2001 & its amendmends read together with its regulations all foreign Nationals whether minor or adult is legaly required 2 obtain a valid study visa 2 enrol & study any educational institution. So Gayton isnt wrong.
